12 Sep Have the Audacity to Not Give Up

I’m going to be honest with you, y’all almost didn’t get a blog today. I literally scheduled an email campaign to go out this morning, stating that I would be taking a hiatus and would return whenever I deemed necessary to brainstorm ways to improve the blog. However, I’m here. 

I had watched a few motivational videos, and after, I was meditating on a life I know I want for myself.  Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for all I have now, but I am starting to acknowledge that it’s okay to want more from life. I used to be ashamed of that. Growing up in church, I feared being seen as ungrateful; however, that’s not where my heart lies.  

I am sharing this to encourage you not to give up on yourself and the things you’ve been working on. Don’t repeat the same cycle for the thousandth time. If you truly don’t have it in you, all you need is a little crack in the glass instead of shattering the whole thing. I am learning to validate the challenges I feel, yet to choose the habits of the person who I know is living her dream. 

I say this because I want you to know that you deserve to have an impeccable sense of trust in yourself. To kill the temptation of giving up. Why? Because if you don’t, there will come a time when you become desensitized to the emotional moments. The moments when you feel doubt, when nothing looks like it isn’t working out for you, when no one is watching, when lack and fear linger in your mind. All of that will win because you practiced allowing it to rather than telling those awful thoughts to go fuck themselves. 

The worst enemy sometimes isn’t always the person causing you distress; it can be yourself when you don’t believe that you’re worthy of being happy, or proud of yourself every step of the way, or that you can experience your desires 10x fold. So, don’t turn away from the person in the mirror, don’t turn away from your dreams, don’t give up. You are enough and you are capable, blessed, loved, and deserving.
